WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program

July 23, 2019 Keesha Bell, WSIBEMC Member Services

From WSIB:

"We engaged businesses, associations and others to get feedback on the redesign of our health and safety programs before moving to implementation.
Recommendations from in-person and online engagement will be used to refine implementation of the program to better meet the needs of our customers.

Registration for the new program will open in November 2019 for the 2020 program year. Creating a new health and safety program is one of the ways we are making Ontario safer and meeting the needs and expectations of our customers."

  • In November 2019, the WSIB will launch a new health and safety excellence program that will streamline three programs (Small Business, Safety Groups and Workwell) into one.
  • The new program will provide a clear roadmap for businesses to improve workplace health and safety, whether they are just getting started or want to optimize systems and processes they already have in place.
  • Success in the WSIB’s new program can lead to rebates and other non-financial recognition to shine a light on employers who are investing in health and safety.
  • Registration for the new health and safety excellence program will open in November 2019 for the 2020 program year.
  • A network of WSIB-approved providers will deliver the program, creating better access and support for more businesses across the province.
  • The new health and safety program will help make Ontario a healthier and safer place to work.
