Problem Solving, Innovation & Design Thinking

September 30, 2019 Sue ElliottNova Scotia

Manufacturers gathered late this month to learn about how Design Thinking can be added to their problem solving, CI and Innovation teams. The Acadian Entrepreneurship Centre led 30 manufacturing professionals through full day workshops focusing on how to make manufacturing more desirable as a career path.

Attendees learned about the fundamentals of the Design Thinking process then applied what they learned to the problem. During the day attendees had the opportunity to gain empathy from job seakers and gain understanding of what they expected from employers, what liked about employers and would excite them about an employer. These are key elements to understanding how to attract and better retain staff. Participants will be receiving a Design Thinking Toolkit to help them use and effectively apply the knowledge they gained during the events.

Thank you to the following regional economic development agencies for their continued support of manufacturers from across the province and this Design Thinking learning opportunity.Sue Elliott, EMC
