Another year has come and gone and what a year it’s been!

We asked you what was keeping you up at night and how best meet your needs here in Nova Scotia and built our schedule of events to reflect your needs. Thank you to all our hosts, to everyone who has participated in an event bringing their willingness to share and learn from each other.

A quick recap of topics for the past year:

Raising the Profile of Manufacturing in our Communities

Regional Safety Groups – Claim Loss Prevention, Machine Guarding, Safety Orientations & Building Blocks of Strong Safety Culture

Automations Tours

Design Thinking Training

Respectful Workplaces

Transportation and Housing Issues for Rural Manufacturers

Our training and development collaboration with the Department of Labour and Advanced Education continues to be strong, delivering value every term. We ran 16 workplace essential skills programs across the province this year. These programs provide the opportunity to upskill our workforce to ensure our people have the skills required to contribute value every day in our workplaces. Thank you to all the host members for ensuring we have the space to run these programs.

To our new members, Welcome! It’s been a pleasure getting to know you and your business and we look forward to seeing more of you in 2020.

To those of you who have been with us over the long-haul, thank you for your continued support.

Some topics for the new year include:

Safety – Ergonomics

The Internet of Things – How is this a security risk to your systems and data?

Intrinsic Motivation – How to tap it in your people?

KPI’s – Leading vs Lagging – How to develop the right metrics for your organization

Thank you for a great 2019 and I am looking forward to a great 2020.

All the best to you and yours this holiday season.
