EMC takes its cues from you - our members. Recently a member asked a question about the development of Remote Work Policies to support their workforce working from home post pandemic. This was an opportune time, and a relevant topic, to bring HR and Operations peers together to share their experience, road blocks and best practices.
We began the session with the question “What do you feel is the largest concern for mangers when considering how to manage a remote workforce?” A roundtable discussion ensued with communication and productivity being the top two concerns for those attending.
The discussion then turned to policies. Those in attendance shared their policies and best practices with the group. More Remote Work Policies can be found under Policies and Procedures – Telework Policy Sample on our COVID-19 resource page.
The event was rounded out by a brief KPI Development presentation and discussion of the need for different performance metrics for a remote workforce and the sharing of a KPI library.
For many organizations, and for many in the workforce, the need and want to work from home is here to stay. How we, as a sector, respond and adjust will have an impact on our ability to retain the people we have as well at attract new talent to our businesses.
