Canada’s Safest Employer Gold Award – Manufacturing 2015! and 8 Years No Lost Time

“For us, selecting EMC as a safety group to join for continuous safety excellence was an obvious choice. We have been a member with EMC for 8 years and in that time EMC has proven to be an excellent platform to share best practices with various organizations throughout our community. Their assistance in safety is second to none and the various Safety Group Meetings, ‘Members Need Help Service’ and other support systems have been highly beneficial.  They also provide outstanding communications on updated safety regulations and new legislation that keeps us up to date, compliant and aware of ongoing changes. The EMC Team has demonstrated continuous commitment, support and dedication in helping organizations within our community achieve a high level of safety standards. The experience and impact of our EMC membership has been an important tool in improving our safety programs year after year.”

8 Years No Lost Time - CONGRATULATIONS!

On May 31, 2015 Tarkett-Johnsonite Canada Inc. reached a safety benchmark of ‘8 Years No Lost Time’.  In appreciation for their teamwork and dedication in achieving this milestone, JCI held a recognition luncheon in July to thank all associates for their efforts in ensuring we all do our part to work safe.

At our Waterloo facility we are fortunate to have a strong Safety Committee with leaders governing the way, and additionally recognize that all associates play a critical role in our drive to achieve Zero Accidents. At JCI everyone is in charge of safety and this milestone was only achieved through the hard work and dedication of our whole team.

The management team at JCI believes people are our greatest asset and as such, they consistently pledge that every reasonable precaution will be taken to control and eliminate all potential losses.  To ensure the safety and health of workers, managers establish a focus on fundamental safety components that include safety goals and objectives, employee engagement and accountability, safety program audits (SMATS), and safety tracking & metrics.

A safety-first mentality has been engrained as a core value at JCI - Tarkett for both existing and new associates. We believe that zero accidents is the only acceptable target and that zero injuries are possible. As such, we consistently strive for improvements and are proud of our associates and our leaders alike for the efforts to ensure we have a safe working environment.

Congratulations goes out to the entire team for reaching this important milestone.
