A Planetary Carrier part from EMC member Stackpole International wins international awards. In the 2017 Powder Metallurgy (PM) Design Excellence Awards competition, an Award of Distinction in the Automotive— Transmission Category was given to Stackpole International, Canada, for a sinter-brazed planetary carrier made for ZF, Germany. The assembly, consisting of a guide plate and a spider, goes into a new 9-speed automotive transmission.
The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) announced the winners of its 2016 Powder Metallurgy Component Awards at the World PM2016 Congress & Exhibition, Hamburg. The PM Structural Parts category was won by Stackpole International for the development of the planetary carrier. This planetary carrier, manufactured by Stackpole International, was said to be an excellent example of the collaboration between teams with expertise in the Powder Metallurgy process and automotive transmission design.
