Lean Supervisor

2 Day Classroom Program

EMC's Lean Supervisor Program is a comprehensive program designed for anyone who leads or manages people to achieve results in an organization …

Description: This 2 day highly participative program is for Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders that have responsibilities for managing people and processes and that have accountability for results. Companies have been struggling with the implementation of Lean and the sustainability of Lean in their facilities and processes for years now because these key leaders in organizations are not provided the tools to change the way they manage the new Lean processes and team based cultures that have been put in place recently.

The Lean Leader introduces these key individuals to the concepts and tools that will help make them successful now and in the future as change and process improvement take hold and increases in velocity.

The Need: In the past, these leaders were generally promoted because they were the best workers putting out the most product or best service. This 'reward' usually resulted in a drop in productivity because the best producer was removed in the hopes that they could create and develop more like themselves.

We now know that some people are good at teaching employees and some are not. Many of these people find it difficult to let go of the 'friends' on the shop floor and when the time comes to support management in the tough decisions, they choose to stay 'friends' with shop floor employees. These leaders, which includes the range from senior managers to team leaders are an absolute critical link in the success or failure any improvement initiative.

If you fail to address this fact, the sustainability of change in your organization will be a very high risk for failure or at the very least, very hard to manage.
