"Leadership:  Past, Present and Future"

This Event is all about Leadership.  Regardless of the size, sector or industry that we participate in, Leadership is a common denominator among us all.  Understanding, preparing and practicing skills in that regard are elements of development that leaders endeavour to embrace at every opportunity regardless of their role or position within an organization.

Our very special Guest Speaker, Brad McKay, former CEO of Healthcare Food Services, is well versed in the various concepts of Leadership dynamics from eras long past to present day!  He is an extremely interesting person with a passion for this subject that is sure to engage you!

As we delve into this topic, consider if you will that Homo Sapiens have been on the planet for a relatively short period. In that time, we have used our intellect and human leadership skills to develop the world around us for the greater good of all. Looking into the future however, the world is becoming a different place and no doubt it will take new and different styles of leadership for us to continue to prosper on this planet!

Please join us as we look at leadership - past, present and future - in ways you may not thought of before!  We will explore what leadership skills we need as a society - and you will need as an individual - to prosper in this future world!

Brad McKay is former Chief Executive Officer of Healthcare Food Services, a leading Canadian marketer of nutritious prepared meals for the healthcare sector. Prior to this he was Vice President Ingredients and Export for Parmalat Canada and before that held progressively senior positions at Procter & Gamble, Kraft/Nabisco and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Brad is a Board member of Food Processing Skills Canada and has been a Board member of the Yves Landry Foundation, the International Union of Food Science and Technology and the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology where he was also President. He has been Board member of the Canadian Advanced Food and Materials Network and the Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals in Ottawa. He is an invited speaker at industry events in Europe, Asia and the Americas and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo in Systems Engineering.

EMC’s Strategic Interest Group (SIG) events are facilitated manufacturers’ peer networking opportunities.  There are over 60 EMC consortium regions in Canada, where members gather to share best practices, discuss opportunities and challenges to enable competitiveness, take in plant tours and build relationships with both peers and our valued community stakeholders and partners.
