PEI Consortium

Charlottetown, Summerside

Here we sit at the end of yet another year that didn’t look a whole lot different than the year before. Although things are not quite back to normal, we have been able to enjoy phases of in-person activity to compliment the many virtual offerings both locally and nationally.

Was it a year of progress and growth: it absolutely was with continued relationship development with members, community partners and subject matter experts, membership growth, and engaged participation in all aspects of EMC resources.

One of the highlights of the year was to be able to support companies, with the assistance of ACOA, through a recovery and growth stage. We hope to continue in this type of activity throughout the coming year.

Moving into 2022 we will continue to provide networking opportunities that reflect your needs and input. A tremendous void in our activity has been the plant tours. I continue to receive feedback as many feel the comfort level is there to proceed with this type of activity. As a result, I am in the process of developing an aggressive schedule of tours throughout the year. These tours will consist of four different goals: professional development, host best practice and area of focus, capabilities awareness and feedback opportunity. Should we need to adjust due to Public Health requirements we will do so without question. If this type of activity is of interest to you, I would be happy to have a discussion about welcoming a group of peers to your facility.

In January we will be exploring opportunities to provide, with some funded assistance, Manufacturing Essential Skills for Supervisors and Production workers as we do in other provinces. What this will look like will  be reflective on an upcoming gap and needs analysis session with all the right stakeholders present.

Whether it be networking, initiatives, or programs, we will continue to listen and ensure that all activity is a result of your feedback.

All my best to you and yours for a safe and Happy Holiday season!
