It was graduation day for the last EMC / LAE cluster program of 2013 today. The BLUEPRINT READING AND TECHNICAL DOCUMENT USE class being held at Bridgewater Metal Industries in (you guessed it) Bridgewater held the closing celebration today. At the same time registrations were coming in for the first two programs in 2014 in the region.

EMC Nova Scotia Revved up and Ready for a Busy 2014

EMC Members in Nova Scotia have a lot to plan for and look forward to this year. Members have supported their consortia by volunteering to host events and lots of great training is coming due to the continued collaboration between EMC and the provincial Department of Labour and Advanced Education (LAE).

A recent article in the business section of a major Nova Scotia paper was headlined ‘ Export Picture Glum’ and all the references in the article related to manufacturing while stating ‘97% of Nova Scotia companies do not export’. The story did not paint a very good image of manufacturing for anyone reading it by indicating that a great percentage of those who are doing business here are not active outside the region.
