Pollard Banknote (Sault Ste. Marie) has been a leading supplier of instant tickets for over 25 years and serves over 60 lottery and charitable gaming organizations worldwide. Pollard is taking advantage of the tremendous training being offered through funding support from FedNor! Dont just take it from us.... here's what the current participants are saying about their experience while participating in EMC's Lean Management System training.
I would recommend the Lean Manufacturing Course to anyone wishing to grow and prosper!
"In just a short period of time morale, communication and production have all increased drastically in our facility. Each session has provided ideas that we can easily implement such as peg boards, Gemba walks, communication boards, Kanban systems etc. The sessions are interesting, thought provoking and provide an opportunity to share best practices with other businesses and the instructors and to in turn learn “better ways” to do things in the workplace.
The course has given me tools to understand the needs of our staff and the company and how to affect lasting change. It has also given me the confidence and knowledge to attempt larger projects (ie Reducing Changeovers) and the steps needed in order to succeed. If you have an open mind and are willing to implement the ideas learned in the course then ROI will be seen immediately if not in only a few months’ time." Randi Laur, Pollard Banknote Limited
This course is invaluable and if you have the personal drive to change and make your current workplace better than the return on investment will be seen almost immediately!
"The Lean Manufacturing Course has not only given me tools to improve current processes (Kanban systems, 5S program etc.) but has given me new insight to better production, morale and communication on the production floor. Each week, the course has given me quick and easy take-aways to implement on the production floor including an accountability board, interactive communication board, 5-minute pre-shift talks, Gemba walks, interactive supplies board etc.
The course is also giving me the tools to identify larger projects and the steps/tools to succeed in implementing the change on the production floor (ie. Reducing change-over times on packaging machinery). In only 5 sessions, the manufacturing staff of Pollard Banknote have not only increased production by working smarter and not harder but have also increased morale which is evident with sick time being reduced drastically. The facilitators are also extremely knowledgeable and have tremendous insight to not only the theories of Lean but have extensive experience in many different manufacturing facilities in which they teach from. This course is invaluable and if you have the personal drive to change and make your current workplace better than the return on investment will be seen almost immediately! As well, due to the current success of the program, Pollard Banknote is now looking to further educate other staff members with the 2-day Lean Supervisor Course in the near future." Lee-Anne Nicholson, Pollard Banknote Limited
