Members of all the Eastern Ontario Consortia are very grateful to Hicks Morley for providing an annual Employment Standards Update (ESA) each year. It is also helpful for members to learn about new case law judgments that help to shape future direction of court decisions. KI Pembroke hosted a very interested SIG at their Pembroke plant. Teresa Mann, Public Health Nurse and Workplace Health Coordinator of the The Renfrew County Health Unit gave our members and guests a very detailed presentation re: Establishing a Comprehensive Workplace Health Program in your organization (Making ‘Cents’ of a Good Idea). The Framework used as a model will be very familiar to any of our members who have worked through a model of “Continuous Improvement” or “Change” in their buildings. Both

The Hawkesbury HR contacts met for the first time to share best practices re: Attendance Management and other concerns on their plates. They also established a list of possible topics for future SIG discussions.

Hawkesbury EMC members meet three times per year in Hawkesbury and almost network monthly with the United Counties (S, D &G) and Cornwall members. Tulmar Safety Systems, Hawkesbury hosted two SIGs in January and Brian Le Huquet, Director of Manufacturing, provided an excellent tour of their production facility. The focus of this event was to connect members with community & government resources to help them to attract and train their employees.
