Thank you to Saeplast and Stewart Pollard for contributing to a recent Saint John / Charlotte co event and discussion on executing a continuous improvement strategy. This discussion explored the critical components of any type of change or initiative within an organization as well as the question ‘can you drive effective sustainable change from the middle?

Unfortunately we often learn the importance of planning after a risk has become reality. The sharing of practices and experiences during this recent event at WP Griffin provided a solid overview of the steps to assessing and putting plans in place to support business continuity.

It was a pleasure and an educational experience to take part in a recent event at Cavendish Farms in PEI. In keeping with our ‘member developed theme’ for this spring, John Walsh, Director of Operational Strategy, shared their progress toward operational excellence. In John’s words ‘it’s all about growth; if you aren’t growing, you’re dying!

Participants of a recent event at Crosby’s Molasses in Saint John unanimously agree that emergency assessment and business continuity planning are critical, but making it a priority among the other commitments and resource constraints can be a challenge.

At a recent regional event in Moncton, Ben Hope of Fiesto Canada and Dr. Bill McIver or NBCC, joined manufacturers to share expertise and to provide a better understanding of the entire scope of Industry 4.0. Although many in attendance had some grasp of different aspects, the presentations were very helpful in tying it all together.
