Spring, now just a few weeks away, immediately conjures up images of warmer days and new growth. It’s a season that we get excited about – a time when ideas begin to surface much like the flowers in our gardens. It’s with that spirit of “development” that we are excited to be visiting with Siemen’s Canada Ltd. this month to look at Food Safety Traceability, Tracking Needs and KPI’s! We also have a blossoming group of EMC GF2 Productivity Workshops lined up across the Province and in the spirit of Continuous Improvement, our EMC GF2 Self-Diagnostic Tool offers companies the perfect means with which to identify opportunities for growth and development! Yes, there much to look forward to this Spring!

You can feel the excitement as soon as you walk in the door – in fact there’s a great big welcoming sign for EMC Networking Participants on the monitor and an enthusiastic Team from all facets of the business greeting you warmly, engaging in dialogue and ready to share their experiences and success! This Special Food Sector Event was all about continuous improvement projects, supervisory skill development, leadership, culture and people empowerment – all of which truly flourished for our Host TMF Foods Ltd. when they decided to train their Supervisors through the Canadian Manufacturing Network Harvard Supervisory Certificate Program.

There is always something wonderful that comes from bringing a group of like-minded individuals together interested in learning more about how to improve or enhance programs they may have in place through experiences of others. Best practices provide the perfect learning opportunity to do just that and we were thrilled to visit with Malabar Super Spice Company with that perspective in mind as we focused on striving for excellence in food safety!

This year marks the 7th Annual Strategy Institute North American Food Regulatory & Quality Assurance Summit in Toronto, Ontario. EMC has truly enjoyed partnering on this worthwhile initiative year over year as it offers critical industry insight on current and upcoming regulatory requirements, provides excellent networking for attendees, and always the chance to connect with subject matter experts and peers on issues of relevance related to compliance, certification, current and future requirements, case study and best practice examples.

In just a few weeks we are ready to kick off another exciting fall line-up of EMC Food Sector Networking Events! If I sound excited, I truly am – in fact, our entire Team is! There are so many excellent activities taking place over the course of the next few months - “mixing” interesting dialogue and alternative perspectives, “stirring“ creative thought, and “heating” up our performance (so we can “cool” down the competition)! It’s through peer interaction, timely topics and informative plant tours – we become inspired to do the best we can with all of the key ingredients (product, people, processes) that our companies have at hand!
