EMC has launched a new and innovative Food Sector initiative that is bringing together food & beverage manufacturers and processors from across Ontario. These forward thinking companies will be networking together to enhance their competitiveness, engage best practices and develop new opportunities for growing their business.
We are beginning a new "adventure" if you will - an opportunityto work with each other to explore industry opportunities and towork together on common challenges that we may be facing in ourbuildings and beyond. In today's economy with the loss of jobs, companies, debt, rising costs and speeches on a tougher economicclimate to come, it is imperative that we work together - not onlywithin our own industry but in our sector and across sectors aswell.
The Food and Beverage Industry represents almost 3,000manufacturers in the Province of Ontario alone! Of that, almost 70%of those manufacturers depend on our rural farmers for theirproducts.
After many hours of perusing magazines, on-line postings, speaking with those in industry as well as those who supportindustry initiatives, I started to plot the issues I thought mightbe of greatest interest to those involved in the Food and BeverageSector as we move forward in 2009. How many of the items belowaffect your organization, your plant, your people, or directlyimpact you? Are there other issues that you would like to add?
