1. Supply Chain Management with Burnbrae Farms, Trillium Health Care Products and the Supply Chain Sector Council - April 20th, 2011 - BROCKVILLE
We are delighted to have Burnbrae Farms, Trillium Health Care Products and the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council joining us for a best practice overview on Supply Chain Management. These companies have a great deal to share and this will be an excellent opportunity to network with our Speakers and with peers on this subject.
Brunbrae Farms includes a network of 400 independent egg farms located from BC to New Brunswick. To give you a bit of perspective on the egg industry in Canada, there are 20 million laying hens producing almost 500 million dozen eggs per year!
Trillium Health Care Products Products is a full service contract manufacturer of Over-The-Counter (OTC) Pharmaceuticals, Prescription Drugs and Personal Care products. Trillium operates two manufacturing facilities, a cGMP pharmaceutical facility and a highly efficient bar soap plant, both strategically located in North America.
At this session, we will have a brief introduction on Supply Chain Management, followed by our Manufacturer experiences and best practices. We will discuss the benefits and look at the SCM process and help identify challenges and opportunities. Our event will conclude with some open peer-to-peer networking and roundtable discussion opportunities!
2. Chudleigh's Limited - Operations Overview and Lean Journey - April 28th, 2011 - MILTON
If Lean is a continuous improvement activity that you are thinking about or are already undertaking, then this is an event that you just do not want to miss!
Our Host, Chudleigh's Limited, is very excited about welcoming Manufacturers to their facility to hear their story as it relates to their Lean Journey. This is a true example of best practice sharing and a wonderful opportunity to benchmark with your peers in industry.
With over 30 years in the apple industry, the Chudleigh's brand is well known "as one of the highest quality Apple and Apple Product producers anywhere in the world." "The Apple Blossom", Pies, Crisps, Crumbles, Panna Cotta, and Molten Lava Cakes together with other filled goods form the product line. Chudleigh's Limited has received many Loblaw's Supplier of the Year and also Product of the Year awards in recognition of their accomplishments. 3. Supply Chain Management with Frito Lay and the Supply Chain Sector Council - May 10th, 2011 - TRENTON
On May 10th, 2011 we invite Manufacturers to join us for a second session on Supply Chain Management and as above, we are thrilled to welcome Frito Lay Canada and the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council as our Guest Speakers.
Frito Lay is the largest Food and Beverage Manufacturer in Canada. Overall they employ 285,000 people. In the Fortune 100 Report they were listed as one of the "Most Admired Companies". There are six plants in Canada and 200 distribution centres and 300 BIN's. Frito lay is fully integrated and information flows from seed to shelf. They are constantly looking at investing in new technology, route efficiency, truck utilization and continuous improvement through lean and six-sigma initiatives.
This is again an excellent opportunity to benchmark with a company who has made considerable inroads on the Supply Chain Management side.
4. Kitchener-Waterloo SIG Networking Event at Conestoga Meats - May 11th, 2011 - BRESLAU
Throughout the year, EMC Members host events open to all Sectors and in May, the EMC Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge Members will be enjoying the day with Conestoga Meat Packers.
The morning activities will include a session with Senior Manager's including a best practice presentation and some roundtable business strategy discussion. Continuous Improvement Members will begin their session with a problem solving activity and in true peer team spirit will brainstorm solutions for the issue presented. In the afternoon, the focus will be on Health, Safety and Environmental issues and Human Resource Managers will finish off the day with a discussion on Coaching as an HR Tool.
Conestoga Meat Packers is a vertically integrated processor of premium quality, fresh pork. Based in Southwestern Ontario Canada, they have been supplying the Canadian market with wholesome, delicious pork since 1982. The company is owned and supplied by a co-operative of 150 Southern Ontario family farmers.
5. Workplace Literacy and Multiculturalism with the Ontario Literacy Council, ABC Life Literacy Canada and the Brant Skills Centre hosted by Hartmann Packaging - May 26th, 2011 - BRANTFORD
Workplace Literacy is a very special SIG that features a panel of subject matter experts from the ABC Life Literacy Canada, the Ontario Literacy Coalition and Brant Skills Centre.
As a manufacturer in today's global economy, how does Literacy impact your company on the shop floor, in your daily business activities, global initiatives, etc. What is your company doing to improve and enable people to learn and communicate effectively?
