Conferences, Tradeshows, Summits, Forums, Plant Tours, EMC Networking Events and Virtual Webinars – there are a myriad of different occasions for Manufacturers to connect with peers, engage in discussion and participate in meaningful experiences throughout the year!
There is something about the opportunity to learn and gain insight or entertain a different perspective that brings excitement to the table! Participation in outside activities may present the perfect chance to embrace new ideas and thoughts that enable us to overcome barriers we never thought possible before.
As the first quarter of 2018 unfolds, thousands of industry representatives have already embraced the opportunity to learn and have participated in a variety of sessions - connecting with others tackling everything from sectoral initiatives, to business growth, innovation, product development, the latest in legislation, human capital, health, safety, energy, sustainability and environment issues and the list goes on! Regardless of the focus, the end is undoubtedly the same – attendance is a means to absorb knowledge and broaden perspectives. As such, whatever the activity may be, join in with an open mind, engage with your peers, learn from those participating and sharing experiences, and take the opportunity to review new products, services or concepts offered. When you return to your facility, pass along those key learning moments in a manner that sheds new insight, improvement, product possibilities or savings to your company.
Like industry, our EMC Team also participates in these same type of activities each year. We embrace the chance to gain the latest business insights that may be helpful to the Manufacturers we work with. In January as an example, I attended an FBO Workshop highlighting the opportunities to engage new immigrants in our businesses. In February, our Team exhibited and led a discussion at EDCO (Economic Developers Council of Ontario) 2018 Conference. This particular forum provides us with the chance to connect with key Community Partners who are ready and willing to assist you and your business needs. And, more recently, I have returned from the Ontario Fruit & Vegetables Growers Conference and the Restaurants Canada Show. Each of these provided a chance to connect with peers, see the latest in automation and new product development, and gain knowledge from industry experts!
With learning always forefront in mind - and with the freshness that the first day of Spring (officially now around the corner) provides, I wanted to highlight three excellent networking and learning opportunities for Processors across Canada. Three stellar upcoming Events – three fabulous means in which to engage your Team – and, three perfect ways in which to connect and gain valued insight from others!
1. 14th Annual North American Food Safety Summit:
EMC is pleased to be partnering once again for the 14th Annual Strategy Institute North American Food Safety Summit. As always, this is a premier event that brings together all-star speakers focused on the various aspects of Food Safety from regulations to best practices. Every year, Manufacturers and subject matter experts gather from across Canada and the US to learn from each other regarding our topic at hand. Early on, organizers recognized the value of peer interaction and to that end have worked hard at developing opportunities to build upon this concept including timed meet and greets, an evening reception and long networking breaks. This year’s Food Safety Summit is scheduled for April 17th and 18th, 2018 and will be held at the Marriott Toronto Airport. There are many topics to be discussed and for a complete Agenda that outlines all the Speakers and some of the fabulous presentations planned please click here.
2. Energy Summit 2018:
Hot on the heals of the Food Safety Summit, EMC and NRCAN are delighted to be hosting Energy Summit 2018. This is the third Conference of this nature and strives to help attendees gain relevant insight on energy management, efficiency and innovation with business leaders and energy efficiency experts. It also presents participants with the opportunity to learn how Canadian industry is reducing energy use and environmental footprints. Always a dynamic forum that brings together peer best practices, industry experts, engaging panel discussions and plant tours. There will be actionable learning and business cases for energy management, innovation and sustainability. The Energy Summit 2018 program is now LIVE at www.energy2018.ca. Registration can also be completed through this weblink.
3. EMC Food and Beverage Sector Networking Seminar – Next Generation Digitalization:
Our third exciting learning activity is a very special EMC Food and Beverage Sector Networking Seminar taking place on June 5th, 2018 that looks at Next Generation Digitalization and automation solutions. Hosted by Siemens Canada, it presents the perfect forum to learn about the topic at hand and gain insight from companies and technology leaders who have successfully embraced next gen concepts. As we build on the concept of advanced manufacturing, it promises to be an interesting and educational session and a chance for all of us to learn something new! If you would like to join in, simply RSVP to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Three great upcoming learning opportunities - three great ways to connect with peers, industry leaders and subject matter experts on issues of relevance to your business – three great ways to begin your Spring with gusto!
Wishing you my very best as always,
