Honda of Canada Manufacturing works in 3D!

By Margaret Law

Thank you to Honda of Canada Manufacturing and Lisa Cooper for the tour of their Plant 1 facility.
In less than 24 hours, every spot was taken for this SIG. The weather held out for us and everyone made it to Alliston with time to spare. We even managed to do our “round table introductions” in the waiting room.

Owen Sound & Area’s Human Resource SIG focused on 2016 AODA requirements and compliance. As you may know, what you need to have done and what you should be working on this year depends upon how many employees you have. As it was, we had representatives from members within each bracket: 1-49 and 50+.

The second of two amazing events at Caframo!
It was quite snug in their boardroom; turnout was impressive, especially as Caframo is our most northern member in the Owen Sound & Area Consortium!

Two great SIGs, one excellent location

The two topics for discussion at Georgian College in Owen Sound were 'Drug & Substance Abuse' and 'Recruiting and Retaining Millennials'.

It’s interesting to note that usually the perception of being treated differently is based on “us vs them”. When measuring whether we are being fairly treated, we “calibrate” our perception against comparable references. All of “us” in the plant work from 7 to 3, “them” in the office don’t even start until 9! Bankers’ hours!
What tools do we have at our disposal to address this?
