Guarding, Employment Standards and Looking into 2016

When the Ministry of Labour (MOL) ‘requests’ a session with Manufacturers, companies respond! This session was partnered with the City of Vaughn who provided us with a fabulous venue, and we joined together EMC’s Mississauga/Brampton, GTA/York Region and Barrie/Orillia Consortiums which made up for a nice large group.

Sustaining Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Members of Durham Region and GTA alike gathered in Bowmanville this month to roundtable our best practices on sustaining continuous improvement efforts. To begin, as each person introduced themselves they shared their greatest difficulty in their sustaining efforts. The common theme in the group were issues around culture change and communication.

When you hear that, people automatically think “Savage Arms.” A Division of Vista Outdoors, a manufacturer nestled in the village of Lakefield, ON who have “Made in Canada” pride. Savage Arms sales distribution makes up of 92% USA, 7% Canada, and 1% Other. When Terry McCullough, VP & GM hosts a SIG, people will travel from afar to be in attendance. Capped at 40 registrations, people were excited to hear Terry speak as well as tour their newly expanded plant.
