I wish all of our members in the Windsor/Essex and Chatham/Kent consortiums the happiest holidays, a wonderful end to 2017, and an exuberant start to 2018!
As I look back at 2017, I am grateful for the relationships I've developed with my members. Whether we meet in Windsor or Wheatley, Alliston, Chatham, Cambridge, or LaSalle, every event fosters a sense of solidarity and an understanding that we're all moving forward to improve the world of makers.
Highlights from this year include tours of Honda and Toyota in Alliston and Cambridge, respectively, presentations by subject-matter experts talking about mental health in the workplace, Ministry of Labour initiatives, succession planning, and grant funding, and best-practice sharing events in areas such as visual controls, ergonomics, and ERP implementation.
For some members, 2017 was a tumultuous year, and for you I hope that 2018 allows you time to build on your foundations. For other members, 2017 was a year of significant process changes, and for you I hope that 2018 shows the fruit of your investments in your plants. For yet others, 2017 barely left you time to raise your noses from the grindstone, and for you I hope that 2018 gives you some opportunity for reflection and consolidation.
As for your EMC Consortium, I'm already excited about some of the local events being planned for 2018, and I look forward to assisting members along the way. Thanks for a wonderful year!
