Anti-Spam Policy

Anti-Spam Policy

Protecting our users from unwanted spam.  EMC and its affiliates, and their successors and assigns (collectively referred to as "EMC"), are concerned about unsolicited bulk or unsolicited commercial e-mail ("Spam") and does not want EMC to be associated with the sending, transmission or delivery of Spam.

It is a violation of the Terms of Use for users to use any site powered by EMC:

  • TO EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY TRANSMIT SPAM; OR
  • IN VIOLATION OF ANY OTHER RULES, CODE OF CONDUCT OR GUIDELINES (SUCH AS THIS ANTI-SPAM POLICY).

You will not use EMC technology to send, transmit or deliver Spam to any person or organization. Certain practices, such as those described below, are often associated with the transmission of SPAM:

  • the use of invalid or forged headers;
  • the use of invalid or non-existent domain names;
  • the employ of any technique to otherwise misrepresent, hide or obscure any information that identifies the point of origin of any e-mail message or the transmission path of that e-mail message;
  • the use of other means of deceptive addressing;
  • the use of a third party's internet domain name without that third party's permission,
  • relaying any e-mail messages from or through a third party's equipment, without the permission of the third party; and
  • the inclusion of false or misleading information in the subject line or body of any e-mail message.

Should you engage in any such practices or in the practice of harvesting, mining or collection of e-mail addresses or other information from or through sites powered by EMC Canada technology for any commercial purpose, you may be violating the Terms of Use of EMC. EMC does not permit, authorize or condone such practices.

EMC may, but is not required to use spam filters (to block e-mail messages containing certain types of content or from certain IP addresses, mail servers or domains) and other technological means to reduce or eliminate SPAM within EMC without giving you notice of use of any such means.

Without limiting the remedies available to EMC for any breach of the Terms of Use, EMC may restrict, suspend or terminate your access to EMC at any time and without notice if EMC, in its sole discretion, determines that you have violated this Anti-Spam policy. Additionally, you could be subject to prosecution under the Criminal Code or civil action, if you violate this Anti-Spam Policy.
