Automating Your Shop Floor
Many manufacturers are struggling with paper based recording of production data. This can include time that an employee or team worked on a specific job, material transactions and lot tracking information. This usually means that it is either manually recorded into a system later or stored in a file cabinet somewhere. Neither scenario is ideal as they lead to inefficiency in recording or later finding the information. Both also leave lots of room for error.
Featured Best Practices:
Learn how Atlantic Tube & Steel ( ATS ) leveraged the capabilities of SYSPRO and their existing production equipment controllers to significantly reduce the amount of data reporting that was being captured manually by production personnel. ATS worked with SYSPRO Business Solutions to develop an automated data capture and reporting system on the shop floor.
Paybacks include:
- improved production efficiencies
- quicker response to quality control issues
- Real time access to work in process and finished goods inventory information
- timeliness and efficiency of reporting
