About the Speakers:

Stewart Pollard, Director of Organizational Change Brunswick News Inc
Stewart is originally from PEI; he received his BSc (Physics) from UPEI - along with a Diploma in Engineering in 1993.  In 1998, he finished his BASc, Applied Science (Mech.Eng) at University of Waterloo. Stewart returned to school and completed his MBA from University of Phoenix in 2008.

After graduating from Waterloo, Stewart worked in the aerospace industry for 9 years, first with Goodrich Landing Gear, Oakville, Ontario - where he held positions in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Strategic Procurement, Operations Management, and Program Management    While at Goodrich, he completed his Six Sigma Green Belt. In 2003, Stewart and his family returned to PEI, where he worked with Honeywell Aerospace in Summerside as Six Sigma Leader    Stewart received his Lean Expert certification at Honeywell and led Lean-Sigma deployment resulting in 2004 Lean Site of the Year and 2005 Aerospace Quest for Excellence (two highly regarded corporate awards within Honeywell) Since 2006, Stewart has worked with JD Irving, Limited - first in the role of Director, Process Improvement for Irving Pulp and Paper Division.  Between 2006 and 2009, projects under his tenure accumulated over $60M in savings.  Stewart continued his Lean Sigma education completing Black Belt Training with JD Irving Limited.  Currently, Stewart is working as the Director of Organizational Change with Brunswick News Inc., where he is responsible for leading the cultural transformation from a newspaper company to multimedia.  This journey includes changing to a process centered organization and adopting Irving's formal management system.  Stewart's leadership team is responsible for Process Improvement and the Irving Management System along with Human Resources and Informational Technology.
