Fashionably Lean: The Cosmetica Lean Journey
Participants will hear from a Lean Kaizen Facilitator about the company's journey from knowing little about Lean to implementing Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen throughout the organization. In a short period of time the company has trained 25% of it's workforce in Lean elements as well as a few Kaizen experts.
Chad Metcalf from Value Stream Solutions Inc. will also be on hand to describe the thinking and preparation to go into such a journey.

About the Speakers
Annamaria Rocco, Manager of Human Resources, Cosmetica
Annamaria has worked in the manufacturing sector for 16 years as a Human Resources Professional and has working experience in the consumer packaged goods, automotive and cosmetics industries. Her education includes a Certified Human Resources Professional Designation, university certificates in Management and Human Resources Management from McGill University and York University respectively. She is also in the process of completing this year an undergraduate business degree from York University .
Annamaria has worked for world class organizations such as Wrigley Canada and Collins and Aikman Plastics where she had applied her knowledge in assisting the organizations in attaining their strategic goals through key human resources initiatives such as change management, and the motivation and training of staff. She is an active member of the leadership team that is leading Cosmetica on their Lean Journey as a certified Kaizen Facilitator. This training has applied the grass roots approach to Kaizen and the hands-on experience provided the tools, philosophies and science behind being successful in continuous improvement activities.
Chad Metcalf, President, Value Stream Solutions
Chad's industry experience comes from several levels of accountability within manufacturing and service roles, giving him the knowledge & ability to solve business issues and capitalize on opportunities. His education includes a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology from Bemidji State University in Minnesota and a college diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ontario. In addition to his expertise with manufacturing, engineering and service oriented events, Chad's project experience also includes administrative/transactional department initiatives.
Chad has worked for world class organizations such as IBM and General Electric and several other SME's (Small to Medium Enterprises) where his knowledge and skills in empowering people and achieving results were honed. As a senior manager, he developed several cross functional, value stream teams, focused on customer satisfaction and phenomenal results. Chad is a Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing Master Trainer and Business Transformation Consultant. A recognized leader in his field, Chad has facilitated, mentored and trained many other Lean and Six Sigma experts for client organizations.
