Person to Person Communication
... The Soft Stuff is the Hard Stuff
With remarkably few exceptions, the root causes of problems in manufacturing stem from miscommunication or lack of communication between key individuals in the supply or management chain. And the source of the communication problem too frequently boils down to one or both parties lacking the resolve and communication skills to effectively deal with the issue. In this way, the "soft stuff" of communication truly is the "hard stuff". Effective communication is the currency that breeds quality, and learning this essential skill is neither impossible nor restricted to the abilities of a few senior leaders.
