Understanding Claims Management

Under the Occupational H & S Act it is the responsibility of the employer to take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker. Part of this process involves identifying the essential physical demands and ergonomic risk factors present in the workplace. During this interactive workshop the participants will use videoanalysis to improve their understanding of the PDA and ergonomic risk processes.

About the Speaker:

Claudette Walsh, Project Leader, CBI Workplace Solutions
Claudette Walsh attended University of Waterloo in Waterloo Ontario.  She graduated from the Bachelor of Science program with Honours Kinesiology, Co-operative Program in 1995. 
Claudette Walsh has over 16 years of work experience in the field of Kinesiologiy, including 12 years in occupational/employer services.   She is currently working at CBI Workplace Solutions (a division of CBI Health) as a Certified Kinesiologist and Project Leader.  Her experience includes: Industrial Ergonomic Assessment & Consultation; Office Ergonomic Assessment & Consultation; Ergonomic Risk & Hazard Identification; Physical Demands Profiles/Analysis; Functional Ability Evaluations; Post Offer Employment Testing; Job Coaching; and Work Hardening.

In addition to the above experience, Ms. Walsh is an educational facilitator and has delivered programs to both employees and employers across the province.  Examples of educational seminars that she has delivered include the following: Claims Management; Early and Safe Return to Work Tools; MSD Awareness; Ergonomic Hazard Identification; Office Ergonomics; Better Backs Injury Prevention; Prevention of Upper Extremity RSI; as well the "Handle With Care" program which is in partnership with the Ontario Safety Association for Community and Healthcare.
