Knowledge transfer to gain advantage....
May 10-12, 2010 - Hamilton Ontario: EMC's national conference, Advantage through Excellence: Building the Case for Manufacturing in Canada is a two-and-a-half day event exploring the competitive advantages, opportunities and successes that can be achieved by manufacturers through peer-to-peer networking and sharing of best practices.
EMC is conservatively estimating 500-700 manufacturing delegates, however we are prepared for 1,000 or more, who will be complemented by other industry, community and government stakeholders. As the title indicates, this conference is designed specifically for manufacturers. More than 80% of past delegates are manufacturing decision makers (CEO to Plant and Dept. Directors/Managers/Supervisors), providing the perfect forum for manufacturers to learn, share ideas and best practices with their peers.
Participants will experience first-hand, the "sharing to optimize learning, expertise and resources to achieve world class" motto that EMC has so successfully fostered. Presentations will be delivered in keynote, workshop, panel and plant tour formats, and as with all EMC events, these will be hands-on, experiential sessions! More than ¾ of our workshops are being facilitated by manufacturing practitioners and all sessions involve a stream related case study and industry best practices.
Through the generous support of EMC's community and corporate partners, ADVANTAGE through EXCELLENCE 2010 is being made available to EMC member manufacturers and consortium region partners for an incredible value!
Six Conference Streams!
Advantage through Excellence's six streams puts you in the driver's seat to navigate your own learning and training. Apart from the common keynotes, workshops, and plant tours, delegates choose sessions from across multiple streams. This means you can return to your facility armed with a broad range of new knowledge. This year's conference theme, Building the Case for Manufacturing, is all built around the premise that manufacturing will remain robust and strong in Canada, provided that our industry's leaders remain armed with the latest tools, strategies and technologies.
Building the Case For:
As an added bonus, EMC and CLB Media are co-locating their Energy Excellence (ENEX) conference with EMC's national manufacturing conference: Advantage through Excellence delegates can also buy an additional ENEX Flex-Pack that will enable you to attend some key sessions on energy efficiency strategies for industry.
Incredible value!
The sponsored member and partner cost for the Advantage through Excellence event is just $550 per participant (+GST) for the entire two-day conference! Non-members can attend for just $775 (+GST). In addition, those who register before the early bird deadline are eligible for additional discounts! It is our goal to provide the greatest possible learning experience for the least possible time and cost investment - without sacrificing the quality of learning or access to world-class best practices. EMC is able to provide this opportunity through generous partner support and a terrific group of subject matter experts, many of whom are donating their time for the benefit of our members!
Host Location:
In conjunction with our lead community partner, the City of Hamilton, EMC is hosting Advantage through Excellence conference at the Hamilton Convention Centre / Sheraton Hotel and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, all in Hamilton, Ontario.
Hamilton is located at the head of Lake Ontario, between Niagara Falls and Toronto and is the eighth largest city in Canada. Demonstrating the city's diversity, nearly one-quarter of the metropolitan area population of Hamilton is foreign-born. Hamilton's proximity to both natural resources and retail markets, and the accessibility of various modes of transportation, have helped make Hamilton a main industrial centre for Canada.
EMC's Awards of Excellence are being hosted at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and will include a keynote by popular television star Rick Mercer, star of the Rick Mercer Report on CBC television.
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is a living museum featuring the aircraft used by Canadians or Canada's Military from the beginning of World War II up to the present. The Museum's collection includes aircraft that really fly and several that remain on static display and are interactive workshops.
Our host partners - The City of Hamilton (Economic Development and Tourism) will be hosting a special conference dinner Tuesday night, which will include live entertainment and EMC's Awards of Excellence presentations.
Plant Tours:
ADVANTAGE through EXCELLENCE will also use manufacturing facilities throughout the region as EMC members host plant tours showcasing the many best practice learning and benchmarking opportunities that have been successfully engaged within the host organizations.
