Up to $13,000 Available with Wage Subsidies

EMC Partnership with Textiles Council brings Wage Subsidies to Members

EMC members can access a generous wage subsidy program that provides up to $13,000 or 1/3 of a candidate’s salary, through a partnership with the Textiles Human Resources Council (THRC).  The wage subsidies are available during the new-hire’s first year of work.

 
The maximum $13,000 wage subsidy is available (per new graduate) on a first come, first serve basis. Through this unique partnership, EMC and THRC are pleased to offer the Textile Opportunities program to EMC members.
 
Funding
·         An amount of up to $13,000 to textile firms for each eligible graduate hired
·         Funding support based on one-third of wages paid for up to one year
 
Eligible Graduate
·         Aged not more than 30 years
·         Unemployed or underemployed
·         Graduate from any college, cégep or university
·         Legally entitled to work in Canada
·         Not in receipt of employment insurance (EI) benefits
 
Eligible Employer
·         Agrees to provide graduate with full-time meaningful work (at least 30 hours per week) for a minimum of six months
·         Agrees to provide information and documentation to THRC as required
·         Is an equal opportunity employer
·         Ensures the start-up date of any hired graduate does not precede confirmation of approval
 
The wage subsidy program is designed to enable companies to provide first-time job opportunities for young college or university graduates.
 
All interested EMC members contact us directly.
 
EMC will introduce you to our friends at the Textiles Human Resources Council, who will walk you through the remaining application steps.  Most new requests can be approved within 48 hours!  Members need to call EMC first, to verify member status. 
Note: Each application will be approved on a case by case basis and must be approved prior hiring the candidate.
