At the January meetings Doug covered off the new member orientation, regular program and the new 5+ program.   The group element for 2009 was voted to be Violence (D19) which coincides with many Strategic Interest Group Guest Speakers this year.  As part of the orientation Doug covered the requirements of the program and the 5 step management system. 

As a group, we discussed what you consider to be Violence in your workplace and have you ever had to deal with violence? Doug showed us some interesting facts from Stats Canada and high risk tasks/areas where violent situations can happen.  We went through how to write your standard/policy using violence as an example.

With the 5+ year members, Doug discussed the new program criteria and the structure of the program.
