AS SENIOR MANAGERS IN ANY FACILITY WE MUST TAKE HEALTH AND SAFETY SERIOUSLY AND WALK THE TALK. THERE ARE MANY ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE EXCELLENT SAFETY PROCEDURES AND POLICIES. Incorporating Ergonomics into a Health & Safety Program

- Workplace Inspections should include an ergonomic section - JHSC members should know how to identify basic MSD hazards such as force, awkward postures and repetitive work
- Continuous Improvement programs should ensure that a MSD hazard identification is completed pre and post design or equipment updates or changes.
- Purchasing should have a pre-approved purchasing list of tools, equipment and furniture…

The Ministry of Labour is trying to be more transparent with their enforcement initiatives. They are preparing a video 'from the Inspector's perspective' of what they would be looking for during a loading dock blitz visit.
In the mean time, they have published this poster available free on their website.
