The Ministry of labour has posted the draft workbook for Supervisors on line for your review and comment.
You can review the workbook and comment section on the MoL website.
The Workbook is formatted as 5 step programs aimed at ensuring supervisors are competent and can protect their workers from injury as a result of a workplace incident. The steps include:
Step 1 -- Making a Difference
Step 2 -- Leading the Way
Step 3 -- The Supervisor Toolkit
Step 4 -- You are not alone
Step 5 -- Be a Role Model
This workbook is intended to address the 3 recommendations made in December 2010 towards assisting workers and supervisors in their roles related to workplace health and safety and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. This workbook is intended to address the requirement for awareness material for supervisors.
This is the second step in driving awareness, the first being a poster which was developed and approved in Feb 2012. The third step will be developing eLearning tools for the supervisor.
The MoL is asking for review of the material and comments by stakeholders. There are links attached to the webpage allowing you to give your opinion on the new material. It is important that as manufacturers in Ontario we give our input to help guide the future of Health and Safety in Ontario.
