Bellwyck Packaging has evolved in recent years and continues to grow. Owen Sound region manufacturers were able to learn and benchmark best practices with Continuous Improvement and Quality.

The Continuous Improvement SIG group for EMC's Owen Sound regional consortium enjoyed a presentation about Bellwyck by Kevin Howell followed by a tour and feedback and debrief with fellow manufacturing professionals.

Some of the discussion highlights included:

  • Tribal Knowledge: Challenges with growth and turnover
  • Integrating Quality into job performance evaluation
  • Job Rotation: training challenges and advantages
  • Health & Safety strategies
  • Quick & Easy Problem Solving/Kaizen strategies
  • Lighting on the shop floor
  • Strategic use of 5S
  • Sr management buy-in to Continuous Improvement

Many thanks to Kevin Howell and his team at Bellwyck for hosted a great learning event for our members!

Our next Owen Sound region SIG events are April 28 hosted by Veyance of Canada (formerly Goodyear).

See you then!
