The 29th Annual Kent Region Entrepreneurial Gala Awards were presented on October 16th with one of our members winning one of the six awards.
Normand Caissie, of Imperial Manufacturing Group in Richibucto, was one of the six individuals recognized at the event. Mr. Caissie was presented with the Small/Medium Sized Business of the Year award.
Imperial Manufacturing Group's remarkable story began with Normand Caissie and four workers in 1979 toiling in a 6,400-square-foot sheet metal shop in the small community of Richibucto, New Brunswick. Throughout the years, IMG has acquired and absorbed 17 companies and now operates 10 diversified divisions. The company's facilities are located in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and the United States.
Today the firm has become a world class manufacturer of more than 7,000 heating, air conditioning, ventilation and building products for residential and light commercial applications. It has 530 employees working in 500,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space spread in facilities across North America. It is an acknowledged innovator in the design and production of indoor air quality equipment for North American heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry.
In April of this year, Normand was named to the Junior Achievement New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame, an award given to business leaders who have made a lasting impression on the province and the young Junior Achievers. IMG has also triumphed over thousands of other applicants to be named one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies, a prestigious award sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post and Queen's School of Business.
