2011 was the year I had my eyes opened to what a diverse manufacturing industry we have here in the Maritimes. After 12 months of visiting with all of our members in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, I still can’t believe all the great facilities that call the Maritimes home that I did not know existed here.
This was a year of great accomplishments for our members. 2011 saw our members open new facilities, hire new employees and buy new equipment helping them become world class companies. As such, many of our members were presented prestigious awards throughout the year. Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments!
Our SIG events were well attended and our members shared ideas and solutions on various Human Resource, Continuous Improvement, Production Processes and Health and Safety topics. Our list of events had topics such as Alcohol and Drug Policies and Testing, Becoming an Employer of Choice, Absenteeism, Just Discipline, Continuous Improvements and Problem Solving, Sustainability, Process Improvements, New Hire Orientations, Machine Guarding and Risk Assessments to name a few. With help from quest speakers, our Supervisor Lead Hand events were also huge success. And we can't forget our partners at all the Enterprises, Business New Brunswick, ACOA, Montana Consulting, Workplace Health Outcomes and Worksafe NB, we truly appreciate your support.
Thank you to all our experienced members in both provinces for helping our newbies to get acquainted and stealing with pride. For everyone who hosted an event this year, thank you. Your participation is what makes us all successful!
