Our January event gave us the opportunity to tour ModulrTS in Paris and provide them with suggestions on how to improve their process flow. A lively and interactive discussion followed our tour at Modulr TS where we viewed their entire production facility and found that they had a clean organization especially considering one of their main lines is an asphalt line.
Some suggestions were made to examine the process flow since some of the material handling time seemed a bit excessive. As well the suggestion was made to cross train employees especially in those jobs that weren't needed 100% of the time.
It would also be suggested that it would be helpful to provide some employees with training on 5S and visual factory so it is clear what product is scrap, rework or finished goods. It was also suggested to mark aisles with tape on the floor.
Overall the group found the facility to be very interesting. It was interesting to see one of the members interested in putting a ModulrTS roof on their facility - and the fact that they weren't familiar with the technology before the SIG. Thanks again to ModulrTS and their management team for hosting this great event!
