I started with the Royal Bank in 1966 and stayed until 1974 (including over 3 years as an Inspector/Internal Auditor) where I met & worked Al Diggins in August 1971 (EMC's President & GM and my best friend to this day). I was transferred to London England in 1972 and ended my career in Fort Erie in 1975 to become a professional recruiter in Toronto.
I married Lynne Howard in 1976 (Al was my best man) and joined Quaker Oats in early 1977 where I stayed until 1989 when I resigned as National Sales Manager for the Food Service Division.
Quaker Oats was a very large organization which included dozens of #1 known brands of Pet Foods, Rice-a-Roni, Aunt Jemima, Baking Mixes, Rice Cakes, Stokely-Van Camp canned fruits & vegetables, Gatorade, Magic Pantry Restaurant’s, Fisher Price Toys, L.L. Bean, Igloo Ice Chests, Chef de Cuisine Frozen Entrees & Salads, Snack Bars and also brokered Nabob Coffee and Texize household probucts.

I joined The Gourmet Baker as Eastern Ontario Sales & Marketing Manager (frozen foods) with 7 plant facilities and purchased by Robin Hood in 1990. I was moved to the Food Service Division as Ontario Sales Manager (baking mixes, flour, Stafford pie fillings and Bick’s Products) until 1993 and decided it was time to leave the big corporate world.
I started a company called Loctronics specializing in installing automotive aftermarket products for car dealers in Southern Ontario.
In 1998 Al approached me about joining EMC and in 2000 Lynne & myself moved to our summer home in Blue Mountains near Collingwood & started with EMC as Director of Programs & Manager of the Learning Centre (proposal preparations, schedule training & consulting activities).
