About
After 11 years as an EMC member, Ross joined the EMC staff in October 2008. Ross brings to EMC 30 years of manufacturing experience coming from both the Consumer Product and Automotive Industries.
After completing an Engineering Degree at the University of Waterloo, Ross’s career began at Canadian General Electric where after 2 years on the GE Manufacturing Development Program he landed at the CGE Oakville Lamp plant where for the next 4 years he held both Quality and Manufacturing Engineering positions.
Ross was then recruited by Black & Decker in Brockville as a Supplier Quality Engineer with the responsibility of Certifying Offshore Suppliers of both Houseware and Power Tool products. He was subsequently promoted to the position of Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. Ross was with Black & Decker for 5 years.
Wanting to return to his home town on the shores of Georgian Bay, Ross began an 18 year career with TRW in Midland. His first 2 years as Engineering Manager, then another 5 years away in Michigan as Director Of Manufacturing Engineering and finally back to Midland again as Plant Manager of a 2 plant operation employing 450 people , manufacturing and selling safety critical components to a global customer base. He held that position for 11 years. During his tenure as Plant Manager, the plant achieved Both ISO and TS16949 Certifications, the operations implemented both Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement cultures and the business experienced both significant growth and real positive performance improvement.
Ross is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
