I spent much of my career (1971 - 2001) in the chemical industry working in sales, marketing and customer service. From 1995 until 2001 I was very involved in the turnaround of a surfactants plant in Guelph, Ontario which involved a team effort to change culture and continuously improve. We went from an off spec rate of over 25% to less than 2%; from a loss to a profit.
Joining EMC has made me aware of just how much easier it would have been if we had been a part of a best practice organisation.
From 2001 until I joined EMC, I worked as the Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors and as a membership development representative for a large manufacturing trade association.
