About

What can I tell you about me? Well for starters I'm the mom of 2 great boys - ages 7 and 10. They take up most of my spare time which is a blast. They love to try new sports - this summer is soccer and tackle football (not sure I'm going to watch that one). In the Spring my oldest played ball hockey which I have to say is my favourite.

In my professional life I've worked over 12 years in HR in manufacturing organizations. HR is a neat field to be in since it isn't industry specific but when I took a job in a call centre of 1000 employees the part I missed was that it wasn't manufacturing and people didn't care about their job and the product near as much as they did in manufacturing. I"ve also learned a lot about lean manufacturing having spent 6 years working for Raymond Industrial which is owned by Toyota.

Academically I'm definitely a life long learned. I earned my undergrad from the University of Waterloo and still love going back and visiting (and I'm so excited that my oldest is doing their Engineering and Science camp again this summer). I then completed the course and work experience requirements for my CHRP designation completing that when I was about 4 months pregnant with my oldest. I then took a couple of years off my academic life and after my 2nd son was born I took my Certificate in Teaching the Adult Learner course online through ontariolearn.com. In 2007 I started my Masters in Education with specialization in Adult Education and Community Development. The people I met in this program have been so interesting but I'm proud to say that on June 20, 2011 I officially finished my course requirements for this degree. My actual graduation will be in November 2011! I think I'll take a bit of time off and then maybe take some courses to enhance my skills - perhaps in an area such as Career Coaching or Leadership development.

I guess I used up all the space so if you want to know more about me or ask me a question - please just ask!
